Trustee Committee Votes to Award Contracts for Jackson-Milton Library Project  

YOUNGSTOWN (July 9, 2012 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) – The Building and Sites Committee of the Board of Trustees, Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, met in special session at Main Library today to review bids on the new Jackson-Milton Branch Library. The committee, empowered by the full board to proceed, voted to award contracts to the following bidders.

General Trades DSV Builders, Inc., of Niles, OH $1,102,000

Plumbing Ellyson Plumbing and Heating of Salem, OH $64,500

Mechanical D & G Mechanical, Inc., of West Middlesex, PA $84,190

Electrical Zenith Systems, Inc., of Bedford Heights, OH $335,400

The new 6,650-square-foot branch library will be built on Mahoning Avenue near the Jackson-Milton High School/Middle School complex.

The Library is planning a groundbreaking at the site at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 30 (rain date: 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 31). Construction is expected to take eight months, through March 2013.
