American Religion Data Archive 
The ARDA collection includes data on churches and church membership, religious professionals, and religious groups (individuals, congregations, and denominations.

BibleGateway 
This site allows one to search over 50 versions of the Bible in 35 languages. Search by keyword, passage, or topic. The New International Version of the Bible is the default translation, but individuals can customize the site if they wish with a different version.

Biblical Art on the WWW
Biblical artwork can be found by browsing: Biblical Subject, Biblical Text, or Artist.  You can also find artwork by doing a keyword search.  Each entry includes the artist's name, year of the artwork, and location of the physical illustration.

Encyclopedia of Religion and Society
Originally published in print form in 1998, "the Encyclopedia of Religion and Society marks a unique venture in that it attempts to bring together in a single-volume compendium a state-of-the-art summary of the insights gained by the principal social sciences of religion: anthropology, psychology, and sociology."

Internet Sacred Texts Archive 
This archive provides electronic versions religion, mythology, legend and folklore texts in English translation as well as some in the original language.

Jewish Encyclopedia
Online digital version of the 12-volume set which was originally published between 1901 and 1906.  It provides over 15,000 articles and illustrations.

New Advent
Online digital version of the Catholic Encyclopedia originally published in 1914.  Also available on this website: The Suma Theologica, The Church Fathers, Bible, and other church documents.

New Testament Gateway  
A comprehensive, up to date, annotated directory of good academic web resources about the New Testament.

Patheos
"Founded in 2008, Patheos.com is the premier online destination to engage in the global dialogue about religion and spirituality and to explore and experience the world's beliefs."  Entries on each religion include current news, information, and links to additional reading.  Of especial note: a tool to select 2 different religions for comparison and the multi-religion holiday calendar.

The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life
