April is National Poetry Month and we’re inviting teens in grades 7-12 to enter our annual Blackout Poetry Contest!
To enter, it's easy: Take a page with words written on it like an old book, magazine, or newspaper. Grab a marker and cross out words you don’t want, leaving the words you do, and soon you’ll have created a poem.
The contest runs April 1-30, 2023. Supplies will be provided at stations located at each branch. Turn in your poem at any Mahoning County library branch, opens a new window by April 30. Three winners will be chosen from entries. The winners will receive a cash prize and have their poems posted to our website.
Good luck and have fun!
