TeenTober is a nationwide celebration develped by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA)., opens a new window It hosted by libraries every October and aims to celebrate teens, promote year-round teen services and the innovative ways teen services helps teens learn new skills and fuel their passions in and outside the library.
This TeenTober, we invite you to celebrate with PLYMC! Enter our Acrostic Poem Contest, attend a talk with author Mark Oshiro or find other teen programs at your local Library, opens a new window.
Acrostic Poem Contest
To enter the contest, all you need to do is choose a word. It can be a descriptive word, a word that holds a lot of meaning to you, a random word, or even just your name.
Create a poem by writing that word vertically on a page. Each letter in your chosen word will be the first letter in that line, forming a poem. Entry sheets are available at every PLYMC branch during October. Entries must be submitted by October 31.
Three winners will be chosen. Be creative, have fun and good luck!
A Night with Author Mark Oshiro, opens a new window

Join us in welcoming author Mark Oshiro! They will discuss their novels and writing process and the audience will get to ask questions. There will be time for books to be signed, too!
