Tiny Art Show

The Tiny Art Show at the Austintown Library is back! During the month of July, anyone aged 3 and up can come to Austintown Library and get a FREE take and make bag to create their work of art (one per person while supplies last). Each bag will include a 4x4 mini canvas, easel, some paint, a paintbrush, and a release form. You will have the entire month of July to create your own masterpiece, which you can then be submitted back to the Austintown Library to enter into our contest.

Patrons can also register for one our Tiny Art Show programs if they do not wish to create their artwork at home. These programs are for all ages and will be held on Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, July 30 at 6 p.m..

The Tiny Art Show will take place from August 1-15 during library hours). Patrons will be able to visit the Austintown branch each day to view all of the artwork and vote on their favorite pieces. The submitted artworks will be separated into four age categories: kids, tweens, teens and adults. The top three in each category will receive a prize!

Below is some information about the contest and its rules:

  • The Tiny Art Show is open to everyone ages 3 and up.
  • Craft programs for making your own mini masterpiece will be held at the Austintown Library throughout the month of July. The programs are scheduled on Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, July 30 at 6 p.m. for all ages. Registration is required.
  • Kits to take home will also be available from July 1-31 or while supplies last. Each kit will contain a 4"x4" canvas, mini easel, acrylic paint, and a paintbrush. Kits are limited to one per person.
  • You may use additional materials to complete your canvas, but everything must fit on the 4"x4" canvas and mini easel you receive from the library.
  • All works of art should be free from anything obscene, profane, or vulgar.
  • Submissions to the Tiny Art Show can be made throughout the month of July during open library hours. You must bring in your mini canvas, easel, and this signed consent form to the Austintown Library to be entered into the show and contest. Only one entry per person will be allowed.
  • The Tiny Art Show will run from August 1-15 at the Austintown Library.
  • Library patrons can vote on their favorite works of art by age category - kids (ages 3-6), tweens (ages 7-11), teens (ages 12-17) and adults (ages 18+.) Voting will be limited to one ballot per person per day.
  • The top three winners in each age category will win a prize and will be notified by phone.
  • By returning and submitting your work of art, you are agreeing to the Library's contest rules.
  • All submitted works will be on public display. The Library assumes no responsibility for any damage to or loss of entered works.
  • By submitting your artwork, you agree that The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County may use images of your artwork in future library promotions.
  • All artwork must be picked up after the Tiny Art Show is over (between August 19-31). All remaining paintings will be discarded on September 1.
