YOUNGSTOWN—The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County and the Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA) will distribute meals for ages 18 and younger beginning on Monday, June 19. Free meals will be available Monday-Friday, 12-1 p.m. at Main Library, 305 Wick Ave., Youngstown, OH 44503. The food must be eaten while visiting the library. The program runs through July 28 and is funded by the Children’s Hunger Alliance in partnership with the USDA. No registration is required.
Founded in 1970, Children’s Hunger Alliance is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger. CHA partners with organizations throughout Ohio to provide nutritious meals to at-risk children who need them most. The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) has served the Mahoning Valley since 1880 when the Youngstown Library Association was officially created.
