Library Trustees Welcome Denise Glinatsis Bayer as Newest Member

YOUNGSTOWN—The Board of Trustees of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) recently voted to approve Denise Glinatsis Bayer as the newest member of the Board. Bayer was appointed to the seat left vacant by Mary Lou Reyes, who retired from the Board in August.

Bayer is currently the Vice President, Senior Trust Officer for Premier Bank. Prior to joining the financial industry, she spent 15 years as an attorney representing businesses and nonprofits, including PLYMC, while she was at Harrington Hoppe & Mitchell, the law firm contracted to represent the Library.

Bayer earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Youngstown State University and her Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve School of Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Mahoning County Bar Association, and the Mahoning-Shenango Valley Estate Planning Council.

Bayer has extensive community service with many Valley organizations and serves on local boards, including Opera Western Reserve, the Lucy R. Buechner Hall Board of Trustees, the Western Reserve Health Foundation, the Mahoning County Bar Foundation, the Henry H. Stambaugh Auditorium Association, and the Tod Homestead Cemetery Association’s Board of Trustees.

“I’m honored to be a member of the Library’s Board of Trustees and to serve the Mahoning Valley in this capacity,” said Bayer. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members to ensure that our Library continues to be a vibrant and inclusive resource for our community.”

"We are thrilled to welcome Denise to our Board of Trustees. She brings an incredible sense of service to the Valley, and we look forward to learning from and working with her,” said Carole Weimer, President of the PLYMC Board of Trustees.

Bayer’s term expires in 2025.
