YOUNGSTOWN—Registration for the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County (PLYMC)’s annual Summer Discovery program is now open. This year’s theme is “All Together Now”, and the program will run through July 31. Patrons can register on PLYMC’s website: https://www.libraryvisit.org/summer-discovery/
The program is free and open to all ages. Participants can earn one point a day by reading, visiting the Library, enjoying a Library program or service, or participating in an act of kindness like holding the door for someone. Participants track their progress on a Book Log and those who earn 90 points or more receive a free book they can keep or donate.

The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) has served the Mahoning Valley since 1880 when the Youngstown Library Association was officially created. With 15 branches across Mahoning County, including our Main Library in downtown Youngstown, the PLYMC is well known for signature services and programs like Summer Discovery and 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. The mission and values of PLYMC to “connect, inspire, and enrich” position the Library to serve our communities by preparing children for kindergarten, promoting early literacy, assisting job seekers, connecting Valley residents to technology, and providing resources for small businesses.
