The two largest library systems in Mahoning Valley are collaborating to honor area veterans. The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) and Warren-Trumbull County Public Library (W-TCPL) are asking veterans and families of veterans to submit photos, along with name, title, years of service served, and branch of the military, in order to create a video presentation which we will make available to the public for Veterans Day. Please submit your information by Monday, Oct 28th to marketing@libraryvisit.org.
“We are thrilled to be able to provide this service all across the Valley with both of our libraries working together on this project. We believe in keeping the service and sacrifice of veterans in our hearts and memory, and PLYMC is happy to do our part in helping to make this happen with this special project and collaboration,” said Aimee Fifarek, PLYMC CEO and Director.
“We greatly value the contributions and sacrifices made by veterans and their families, and we believe this video project provides an opportunity to honor their important role in shaping our country. The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is dedicated to preserving the stories, documents, and photos celebrating our community history, and highlighting veterans in this way commemorates their service in a format that can be accessed and appreciated by all ages,” added Jim Wilkins, Executive Director, Warren-Trumbull County Public Library.
